Ankur LAYAM – In Harmony… Be Successful…

The ultimate aim of any individual is Happiness. This happiness is obtained when he is healthy. By healthy we mean much more than physical health – One should be Physically, Vitally, Mentally, Intellectually, Financially, Spiritually and Socially healthy to gain true and everlasting happiness. Slightly extending the theory of use and disuse, we may state that what is continually nurtured and used grows. So one has to nurture and grow in all the above spheres to be healthy on all planes and experience true happiness.

This growth in different facets of life should happen in a balanced way, and with a focus within rather than without, for the Wheel of Life to be round and smooth as shown below. Such growth will aid in a smooth ride in the “Journey of Life”.

For example, If one neglects the family in pursuit of money, he would feel lonely later in life. He may earn a lot of money but will feel strained and deluded if he has strained relationships. All the money earned will lose value if he does not have his near and dear ones to share them with. The same holds true in case of physical health. I am remembered of the saying… “Man runs all his life after money at the cost of his health and finally ends up spending all his earnings to gain back that health”. The same holds true for other facets of life as well.

Education is not mere accumulation or dumping of information into the mind of the student. Quoting Swami Vivekananda “We want that education by which character is formed, Strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.”

In other words education should me man making. Lasting Success and Joy in life can be had only when we pay attention on all the above 7 facets described above and build the inner strength of the individual…
